James and Jennie aka "Sunshine" Morris
James was born in 1965 in Bremerton, Washington. He moved to Alaska in
1991 to pursue his art and to see and enjoy the beauty and wonders in this Great
Land. Jim started drawing when he was 5 years old after being inspired by
his mother who was a commercial artist. Jim is a self taught artist; he
took art in 7th and 8th grade with no other formal training. Jim has been
a freelance artist for the past 18 years and has won numerous art awards.
He draws primarily in pen and ink (color and b/w) and also uses airbrush technique.
He has combined pen and ink and colored pencil in some of his previous work.
When traveling, Jim draws with Paper Mate Ballpoint pen.
Jim enjoys hiking,
camping, photography, and model ship building. Jim was married in 1996 to
a very supportive wife who thoroughly enjoys promoting his artwork and occasionaly
adds color to some of his projects.
